Recent Study Notes that PFCs Are a “Potential Threat to Public Health.”
Hare, Wynn, Newell & Newton, LLP has been representing individuals and businesses impacted by perfluorochemicals (PFCs), specifically perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctyl sulfonate (PFOS), contamination in the Decatur, Alabama and Cottage Grove, Minnesota areas since 2002. To that end, attorneys at Hare Wynn carefully monitor developments related to PFC exposure.
A new study published in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Assocation (JAMA) by Harvard University researchers found that PFCs can adversely affect children’s response to vaccines. The study was published in the January 25, 2012 issue of JAMA. The study’s lead author Philippe Grandjean, adjunct professor environmental health at Harvard School of Public Health was quoted as saying:
“Routine childhood immunizations are a mainstay of modern disease prevention. The negative impact on childhood vaccinations from PFCs should be viewed as a potential threat to public health…”
In light of this and other important new research, Hare Wynn continues to research potential claims on behalf of individuals, property owners and small businesses that have resulted from the negligent release of PFCs into the environment.
